A baby bouncer or jumper makes a great gift for any parent, new or old. But new parents in particular love bouncers for the entertainment and stimulation they offer baby, as well as the precious ‘me’ time they offer them!
Our selection for ‘must-have’ bouncer is the Fisher-Price Deluxe Jumperoo. Made by the renowned leader in the child care industry, the Deluxe Jumperoo got enthusiastic thumbs up from every child care professional, working parent and stay at home parent interviewed in one survey!
Jumpers, Bouncers…What Do they Do?
What exactly is a ‘bouncer’ or ‘jumper’? Basically, bouncer or jumper seats are used to support and rock infants through their own movements, or with adult help. Bouncers usually include a base frame supported on a flat surface. An angled portion extending from the base supports the leg and back portions of a seat, allowing the infant to be gently rocked in a slight up and down motion when the back and leg portions are moved.
The Jumperoo: Leaps and Bounds Ahead of the Rest
Like other bouncers, the Fisher-Price Deluxe Jumperoo has a suspended seat is supported by a free-standing base.
But that’s about where the similarity ends. The Deluxe Jumperoo assembles easily and the seat is height-adjustable, so it will grow with your child. The Deluxe Jumperoo is a doorway jumper attached to a free standing base with a suspended seat, so it creates all the motion of a traditional doorway jumper. The seat moves in all directions instead of just up and down—more fun for your baby. And little Dylan or Emily can enjoy the Jumperoo until they get to 25 pounds or 32 inches!
Features:
- 4-position height adjustment
- Easy-fold design with carrying handles for easy portability
- Spring covers protect little fingers
- Snack tray and interactive toy bar with orange bear toy and a bead bar
Parents love the Deluxe Jumperoo
A key feature of bouncers or jumpers is their accessories—toys, sounds and sights to catch and hold the attention of your little one. Many jumpers have toys that babies tire of quickly. But the Deluxe
Jumperoo is interactive. It features lights and music that go off and on in response to baby’s movements, stimulating further motor activity and development. Helps lay the foundation for strong bones and muscles, agility, grace and coordination.
The Deluxe Jumperoo was rated highly by parents for its durability, fun, ease of assembly and care, as well as its safety and stability. This is such a popular item that many parents opt to purchase a second one for the grandparents, so you might want to do that too. It even comes in a second design—the Rainforest Jumperoo—with Rainforest music and animal-themed accessories.

While baby bouncer seats are great, my kids actually liked the metal supported “bouncy seats” the best. Sound like the Jumperoo is the real deal.
